Here’s another GleeStreet classic TV video you can watch here at what I hope is becoming one of your favorite Classic TV websites. This video is from another of my favorite shows, Bachelor Father. The stars of Bachelor Father were John Forsythe as Bentley Gregg, Noreen Corcoran as his niece Kelly Gregg, and Sammee Tong as the Chinese manservant Peter Tong. The show aired on CBS from 1957-1962, almost the same exact years as my favorite show Leave it to Beaver. In fact, the 1957 CBS lineup had Bachelor Father on Sunday nights and Leave it to Beaver on Wednesday nights.
There are not many viewing options for Bachelor Father today, but I found this episode and will try to add others. If this episode ever gets disabled, let me know about it and I’ll try to find its replacement. Until then, enjoy Season 1, episode 1 of Bachelor Father. This episode is titled Bentley and the PTA.
On a side note, a Bachelor Father memory of mine is coming home from work at 4:30 a.m. each day and taking my lunch break while I watched this show on some cable channel back in 1989 or 1990. This one early morning when I came home for lunch (it was nice to live three blocks from work), I probably made a couple pieces of toast and plopped down on the couch to watch a few minutes of one of my favorite classic comedies and the next thing I knew, it was 7:15 a.m. That was some lunch break. Praise God I didn’t get fired 🙂
